For deco i use white rock, slate and river stones. I also use some drift wood.
I use different sands and gravels, depending on the tank.
Advice:
Be patcient. Don't jump into things. Take your time, read as much as you can about the type of fish you want to keep. And most of all ... Enjoy the hobby.
