More Info

Country: United Kingdom
Description: I have an Aqua One 900 that is 178 litres. This is my first aquarium and I set it up in September 2011. Since setting it up, the fish have been breeding which was something I hadn't planned on and my 5 platys have had a total of 13 fry which have all made it to adult size.
Advice: I found pond snails to start with to be a terrible eye sore in the tank and they bred very quickly. They got into the tank through the plants i bought. No amount of picking them out would dent their numbers. I got five assassin snails and within a week they wiped the pond snails out. My advice is that assassin snails look great in a tank and keep unwanted snails under control.
Fish Kept: Platys, Neon Tetra, Cory Catfish, Guppies, Ottos and Danios
Corals/Plants: Various plants.
Tank Size: 39 gallons
About Yourself: I wanted to keep a tropical aquarium every since I was 5 years old when I won a goldfish at the fair. When I bought my house last year, I was finally able to do that and got the biggest tank I could afford. My time and effort has really paid off and the aquarium is doing great.
