More Info

State: Iowa
Country: United States
Description: 48"x 24" x 30"H full glass aquarium, 4 x 48" daylight frequency florescent bulbs, basement setup so only incidental daylight. x90canister filtration, far side of tank from intake has undergravel + one uptake-powerhead with heater adjacent for full circulation.
Advice: I realize that's less than half the filtration suggested for a tank of the size but the fact that I only have to clean the glass once every two to three months should speak for itself. Manage your bio-load. tanks should never appear crowded, and if you keep rather large fish, as I do, fewer the better.
Fish Kept: Clown Knife - 20" Fire eel - 22" standard bichir - 8" pleco - 10"
Corals/Plants: none
Tank Size: 150 gallons
About Yourself: I've kept fish since I was eight years old, having a little 10 gallon all throughout my childhood. Upon moving to college I moved up to a 20L tank with a very moody Jack Dempsey, courtesy of a friend. later in college I moved up to several 55 gal tanks and oscars that I had for a number of years and was lucky enough to receive this 150 as a wedding present from my best man. I've installed it in our basement behind the bar for something to stare at while relaxing on the end of a busy day or long week, perfect for being out of the way enough not to be constantly bothered or bumped, but definitely a focal point of the party-cave.
