Description:
freshwater community aquarium---emperor 400 filter---powerheads--and undergravel--
Advice:
ask a lot of questions---research-- start with the fish you want to keep and buy the tank to accommodate them---start slow---don't be afraid to fail---don't overstock or overfeed --do your water changes---buy fish insurance---for ropefish---don't worry about them escaping if you give them what they need--they need room to swim--48" tank at least--live food {bloodworms}---and plenty of cover with plants and retreats---keep anti-parasitical and anti-bacterial on hand---use kosher salt in water for a tonic to keep the electrolytes up and the fungus down--the freshwater fish absorb the water through their skin-they need the minerals and salts---
Fish Kept:
ropefish---yoyo loaches---polypterus senegalis--congo tetras--dwarf neon rainbows--angel fish---
Corals/Plants:
plastic plants--i'm trying to keep the maintenance low--used to grow live plants in a 55 gallon---look to your local granite or marble dealer for scraps---the pieces in this tank were all no cost---
Tank Size:
75 gallons
Quote:
i wouldn't touch it with a six foot banana
About Yourself:
kept turtles for a while--i've had a 35, 37, 55, and now a 75 gallon--
