More Info

Country: Australia
Description: A curved front 4ft tank lighted by two standard T8 gro-lux fluorescent tubes. Filtered by two internal sponge filters powered by two single external sera air pumps. (Watch out for clogging airstones) No CO2. No liquid plant feriliser.
Advice: Consider using rain water. No chemical treatment required and ideal for plants and fish suited to soft water. Our collected rainwater has a PH of 5.0, but fortunately this is being naturally buffered to 7.0 by the large pink rocks seen in the aqurium. Try to understock the aquarium. Some plants were planted in shallow plastic dishes containing organic fertiliser covered with sand and gravel.
Fish Kept: Long finned albino bristlenose (2 males, 3 females and offspring). 3 Panda corydoras. 22 kuhlii loaches. 1 golden eel loach (hides in the gravel). Red cherry shrimps. North Australian chameleon shrimps. Numerous baby blonde guppiies (temporary only).
Corals/Plants: Low light plants: Crypts, Pink baby tears, Aponogeton, African water fern, Red tiger lotus, Anubias, Ludwigia repens, Java moss.
Tank Size: 60 gallons
About Yourself: Been in the hobby off and on over 35 years. Recently been breeding gold angelfish and these long finned albino bristlenose.
