More Info

State: California
Country: United States
Description: 6'Lx25"H x 18"depth, 2 over-the-back filters, undergravel filtration with 2 power heads, (2) 150 w heaters;
Advice: Take the time to set your tank up properly before putting in the fish, then add them slowly (just like all the books and on-line forums advise). It will pay on better fish health. Do water changes regularly. Get the proportion of male to female specific to the breed. I'm kinda new to the hobby myself and still learning.
Fish Kept: 4 electric blues (Johanni) with fry, 5 yellow labs with fry, 2 malawi eye biters (hopefully m & fem) 3 clown loaches, one very large pleco, 2 bumblebees, 3 kenyiis, 2 Jack Dempseys, & 6 other africans whose names I can't think of at the moment. Also have 29 gal with a breeding pair of Brichardis and tons of babies
Corals/Plants: No live plants
Tank Size: 150 gallons
About Yourself: Had been fascinated with cichlids for a long time, then made friends with a man who had a lot of experience with African cichlids. He bought my first aquarium and gave me some convicts, and I was hooked!! I have had many occupations in my life (secretary, truck drive, food service, but am now semi-retired. I do some in-home health care and food concessionaire at fairs during summer months.
