Description:
30 gallon lightly-planted tank. Filtered by a Whisper 60. Heated by a 150W, submersible heater, & lit by an 8K, 30W tube.
Advice:
Less chemicals! The water in my tank sucked for months. I kept doing water changes, but was trying to fix the problem with stuff like "Am-quel". It did it's job, but was screwing up my cycling. After almost 3 months, I finally stopped with the chemicals & just focused on water changes & light feeding every other day. Worked like a charm. 0 ammo, 0 nitrite, 20 ppm nitrates
Fish Kept:
4 tiger barbs, 2 convict chiclids, 1 CAE, 1 Pictus cat.
Corals/Plants:
On the left, I've got some variant of Amazon sword, some Java fern growing on top of a cave, & a single Radican sword. In the middle, I've got a large piece of driftwood that I'm in the process of getting J. fern attached to. On the right, I've got 2 more Radican swords behind another cave.
Tank Size:
30 gallons
About Yourself:
This is my first tank. I helped out a roommate with his, till I moved. I read up on different "aquascaping" books to get an idea of how I should set it up so the fish I wanted to get would be happy.
