Description: I just put this 55 gallon tank together. I have had the Oscar for about 4 months in a 29 gallon and just got the Devil & Pleco. My Oscar was only about 2.5" when I got him and he has already grown to about 7". My long term concern is how the Red Devil will interact with the Oscar once he equals the Oscar in size. I had the option of getting a Jack Dempsey, but the guy at the LFS said that he thought the two would be fine together as long as the Devil came into the tank much smaller. I am open to any thoughts or suggestions.
Advice: Cichlids are the best
Fish Kept: 1 Oscar, 1 Red Devil & 1 Pleco
Corals/Plants: None
Tank Size: 55 gallons

COMMENTS

Thanks for the feedback getwithit. About one month after posting this the devil attacked the Oscar and had held up in a corner. So instead of getting rid of the devil we bought another 55 gal tank. Neither of them have tank mates now. fish avatar
WATCH OUT!!! if that devil gets his size the oscar is toast. i have had several different chiclids in the past the Red Devil was by far the most aggressive one i ever had. as far as the dempsy i don't think it gets more than7 - 8" so you could end up losin the dempsy due to sheer size. fish avatar
