Description: 5 gallon modified eclipse hood tank. Lighting is an odyssea 50/50 compact fluerescent with 10000k daylight and actinic at 26 watts. I have about 1.5 lbs of crushed coral and live sand mixture as the substrate and around 8lbs of live rock.
Advice: Everyone makes it out like its so hard. All you have to do is adequate research and you'll be fine.
Fish Kept: 1 percula clown, 1 yellow clown goby, and 1 neon dottyback. 3 hermit crabs, 2 astrea snails, 3 polyp eating, seamingly harmless small cleaner clams? They are now in the filter reservoir as if I am correct in the identification, then they remove nitrates as they filter feed. 30 gallon freshwater community 1 apollo shark, 1 festivum, 1 african brown knife, 1 featherfin catfish (synodontis eupterus), 1 neon blue gourami, 1 sunset gourami, 1 blue rainbow, 2 dwarf neon rainbows, 1 cherry barb, 1 chinese alqae eater, 1 emporer tetra, and 3 headlight/ taillight tetras. 10 gallon brackish 1 GSP (green spotted puffer) You might ask why is he by himself? He is the most intolerant fish I've ever kept. He will not allow any tankmates at all.
Corals/Plants: 1 colony of star polyps, 3 colonies of zoanthid polyps (solid green, green eye, brown eye, and blue eye), purple mushroom polyps, green umbrella mushroom, brown button polyps, some green macro algae, and some as of yet unidentified brown stick looking thing. If someone can identify this, please email me at stephencarter1@gmail.com. It is in the right hand side of the picture of the 5 gallon since its become a reef tank.
Tank Size: 5 gallons
Quote: Knowledge is power
About Yourself: My names Stephen. I'm 21 yrs old and have the 5 gallon saltwater tank you see above, as well as a 10g brackish and a 30g freshwater tank. Got into the addiction when my brother got a 10g tank with some neon tetras. Ive never looked back. Next project to be a 55g reef tank. I can't wait.
