Rated #2821: 90 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank

Rated #2821: 90 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank - This is my 90 gallon aquarium that I absolutely love spending all my time on. I have only 4 fish in it now: an Oscar (5"), a Jack Dempsey (3"), a Common Pleco (7"), and a Blue Gourami (3.5"). I have had no problems with fish mate compatibility thus far!

My camera takes too large of photos for the site, so this is a slightly cropped version of the tank.

About Yourself: I'm relatively new to the hobby. After a little rough patch in my schooling, I decided it would be fun to focus myself in an area that I had not tried before. Someone suggested fish keeping, and sure enough, I'm getting into it whole heartedly. I have a 10 gallon (about to be upgraded to a much larger size for a community tank), and a 90 gallon tank (both freshwater tropical). I'm currently an 8th semester student at the University of Connecticut studying Music Education and German, hoping to be a music teacher in a public schooling system. On the side, I am a private violin instructor for beginner and intermediate level students.
Fish Kept: I currently have in my large tank an Oscar (5"), a Jack Dempsey (3"), a common Pleco (3"), and a Blue Gourami (3.5"). In my smaller tank, I have 4 Serpae Tetras, 5 Glow Light Tetras, 1 Asian Upside Down Catfish (2.5"), 1 Common Pleco (only 2"), and a Sunset Dwarf Gourami (2"). I'm hoping to get into much more creative areas of fish keeping though.
Corals/Plants: None so far, but I'm hoping eventually!
Tank Size: 90 gallons
Advice: Establish your tank first, and buy from reputable aquatic stores! Make sure to let your tank run for a couple days to clean out the tank, and make sure everything is functioning (I didn't with my very first tank, and the filter broke a day later, while fish were already in the tank!). Find a fish store (not a pet store) where the people are willing to help you readily (and not afraid to send you elsewhere to find the proper materials). It will save a lot of heartache.

Rated #2822: 40 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank

Rated #2822: 40 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank - This tank is a cichlid tank that I have recently set up. It contains Mbuna cichlids. The substrate is store bought and created by combining different materials from the ocean such as sand and shells. This buffers the ph of the tank so it needs to be monitered on a more regular basis but with constant water changes it keeps the levels pretty accurate. I don't need to add any ph up of down to the tank with this substrate. The rocks are from a local river that were soaked and scrubed with bleach and rinsed with hot water. The plants are fake except the green on the top of the rocks. That is a java moss that I added recently that should begin to attatch in a week or so. I am currently running a tube under the gravel that is split with an airline double T. From each of these I ran an airstone.. Thats where the bubbles are coming from. The tank is filtered by an undergravel filter and a H.O.B filter that filtters 600 gph.
