About Yourself: Been running tanks since I was 18 and still going strong. I have run Saltwater, freshwater community tanks, and even reef tanks. My favorite is freshwater game fish because I live right off a lake so walk across the street and jump on my boat and fish!! They are such beautiful fish in my eye! Years ago I raised a Tiger Muskie from 2-3 inches to about 18" and was then placed into the Bass Pro Shops tank and lived happily there.
Fish Kept: Right now the tank has the following: 2 Largemouth Bass 1 Channel catfish 2 Bullhead catfish 2 Bluegill 1 Pumpkinseed 1 Crappie 1 Crayfish 1 Perch
Corals/Plants: No live plants but have Rocks from my lake in the tank and 2 huge logs for hiding and cover. Also, have drift wood inside the tank.
Tank Size: 150 gallons
Advice: Remember to properly cycle your tank in the beginning. I also like to do regular 10% water changes weekly. Also, before I put any items into my tank from outside I boil everything to kill off contaminants.

Quote: Always buy fish only from sustainable sources.
Fish Kept: 18 tetra neon, 5 golden mollies, 2 honey gouramies, 1 plecostomus, 6 platties, 3 yoyo loaches, 3 java loaches, 3 kuhlli loaches, 5 apple snails, 1 male betta.
Corals/Plants: Only a small branch of fox tail. The rest are synthethic.
Tank Size: 29 gallons
Advice: Use hard species, use a filter of synthetic cotton if you want ultra transparent water, nothing fancy about filters, the classic plastic cube is the best. The neon tetras always require to be tempered before adding them to the tank. Best cure for Ich, temperature. Always add a small plant to close the nitrogen cycle and avoid toxicity.

About Yourself: I'm originally from the Caribbean and wildlife was all around me when I was a child. I love the ocean and its inhabitants so I will always have fish no matter what.
Fish Kept: 4 juvenile jack dempseys. All 1 inch long.
Corals/Plants: Black spectra stone, real driftwood, fake plants
Tank Size: 30 gallons
Advice: Always get a filter with a higher gph it keeps water conditons at its best. Don't get too excited the fewer fish in your tank the better. Always try to create an environment that emulates the one they inhabit in the wild, it brings out your fish's true colors. Please do research before purchasing. Last but not least care for your fish according to nature's standards not yours and your fish keeping experience will be enjoyable and worthwhile. Who said fish are boring pets!.

Fish Kept: 8 Rummy Nose Tetras, 1 Zebra Danio, 1 Cory Cat, 2 Black Skirt Tetras, 1 White Angelfish, 1 Black Ghost Knife (BGK) Fish.
Corals/Plants: All Artificial. Local Rock.
Tank Size: 26 gallons
Advice: Patience. Do not fully stock a new tank, collect your fish. Do research on the fish you buy, or are thinking of buying. Check whether they are community, semi-aggressive, aggressive, cichlid etc. to minimize injury or death. Remember that your fish are going to grow, so make sure you have an appropriate sized aquarium for when they grow up. Fish can live for over a decade if properly taken care of. Create variation in your fishes diet. There are many types of food (flake, dried, live, frozen). When you decorate your tank do some research on where your fish came from. Do they prefer tall plants? no plants? rocks? sand? Check PH and ammonia levels once a week or more. Temperature is also important, keep an eye on it. My fish all prefer temperatures of 78-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not hesitate to ask your local tropical store for advice, the internet is also very helpful when you have a specific question. It is ultimately all about making your fish as comfortable and as happy as they can be, while still letting your creativity show through. Have fun, get interested and love your pets.

About Yourself: I had my first tank (10 gal) when I was a teenager until it sprung a leak. Returned to the hobby recently and have had to relearn everything but my fish are happier for it. Presently I am a caregiver also of my little fish.
Fish Kept: Red eyed balloon tetras, a beta, and soon an angel fish.
Corals/Plants: plastic plants in the 20 gallon and silk plants for the 5 gallon beta tank.
Tank Size: 25 gallons
Advice: Don't start very small, at least 10 gal, and know the nitrogen cycle. Research, research, research before you bring the fishies home.

Corals/Plants: plastic - black,white,blue plants

Fish Kept: Gold Gouramis,Blue gouramis, many Buenos Aries Tetras, and a rainbow "shark." Many people say that you should not mix gouramis, my gold and blue are getting along real well and showing no aggression towards each other at all. I think it's just the luck of the draw. The gold and blue gouramis are the same species, just different pigment codes. The "shark" can be a bit of a bastard at times but mostly leaves everyone alone.
Corals/Plants: Not any live ones but artificial ones.
Tank Size: 45 gallons
Advice: I'm still learnng, not offering any advice yet but willing to recieve.

Rated #2080: 10 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank

Rated #2080: 10 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank - This is our first fish tank.
It's a 10 gallon freshwater tank, holding 1 betta (shown in front), 2 balloon mollies, 2 sunset platies, and one pleco (and they all *do* get along very well).

Will probably upgrade to a bigger tank once the pleco grows.

Decorations are mostly artificial...some natural driftwood, and natural rock on the left.

Fish Kept: 1 Male Betta, 2 Balloon Mollies, 2 Sunset Platies, 1 Hifin Pleco
Corals/Plants: artificial plants, natural driftwood, natural rock
Tank Size: 10 gallons
Advice: Don't be afraid to put a Betta with other fish, as long as they got enough space and don't have any big shiny fins that the Betta could mistake for a male of his own species. Also, making sure that the smaller community fish are in groups helps to avoid confrontations with the betta.
